As a beautiful, young actress right out of college, Miriam Shor was a little put off that her first audition in NYC was for the part of "a Croatian ex-drag queen — a man to be played by a woman." At the opening night for the Broadway premiere of Hedwig and the Angry Inch over a decade later, Shor told TheaterMania how she nevertheless threw herself into the audition. And presumably at some point she learned that the show wasn't called Hedgewick and the Angry Itch.
