Hugh Jackman Celebrates His Broadway Return on Opening Night of The River

The Tony Award winner stars in Jerusalem playwright Jez Butterworth's newest Broadway offering.

Jez Butterworth's latest mind-bending play, The River, opened last night at Broadway's intimate Circle in the Square Theatre. The production stars Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman, joined in his remote onstage cabin by the lovely Cush Jumbo and Laura Donnelly, both of whom are making their Broadway debuts. TheaterMania caught up with the three performers after the curtain came down to chat about bringing this new work to life onstage and embracing the wilderness preparations it entailed. Jerry Seinfeld, who also made an appearance on the red carpet, was not shy about sharing his Jackman expertise.
