Fun Home's Tony-Nominated Team on Bringing Alison Bechdel's Graphic Novel to Broadway

The new musical's long road led it to an in-the-round staging and a shot at the Tony.

Turning a darkly comic graphic novel about a young girl's troubled relationship with her father into an intricately staged in-the-round Broadway musical was a long and intense journey for the Fun Home team. But according to the Tony-nominated actors (Beth Malone, Emily Skeggs, and Sydney Lucas), writers (Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori), and director (Sam Gold), the journey was worth it to give audiences the chance to become part of their Fun Home tribe.
