Diane Lane, Harold Perrineau, and More Share the Thrill of Opening in The Cherry Orchard

Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of Anton Chekhov's masterpiece is directed by Simon Godwin.

It's been quite a while since Oscar nominee Diane Lane last made an appearance on Broadway, but now it's all come full circle. In 1977, she made her debut in the ensemble of Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, and now, under the auspices of Roundabout Theatre Company, she's heading the cast. Her joy was felt deeply on opening night, when she and her fellow cast members — an illustrious list that includes Oscar winner Joel Grey, Lost favorite Harold Perrineau, and Broadway greats like Celia Keenan-Bolger — introduced TheaterMania to a new kind of Cherry Orchard, one that's "part sitcom, part Greek tragedy," and all about the bonds of family.
