Dan Stevens and Heiress Jessica Chastain Woo Broadway on Opening Night

An All-Star romantic classic returns to Broadway. Jessica Chastain, Dan Stevens, Judith Ivey, David Strathairn, and director Moises Kaufman talk about the Broadway revival of Augustus and Ruth Goetz's drama, The Heiress, which opened on Thursday, November 1, at the Walter Kerr Theater.

Set in 1850s New York, the show centers around Catherine Sloper (Chastain). This shy and sheltered daughter of a prominent New Yorker (Strathairn) must navigate the demands of her emotionally distant father, the love of a passionate young suitor (Stevens), and burden of fortune as only an heiress can.
