Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, Ramin Karimloo on Bringing Anastasia to Broadway

On opening night, the cast and creative team celebrated a musical that reunites some of Broadway's best.

In 1997, songwriters Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty wrote the tunes for the animated film Anastasia. A few years later, they teamed up with Terrence McNally to create the Tony-winning musical Ragtime. Now, the trio is back together and bringing Anastasia to Broadway. This new musical at the Broadhurst Theatre not only reunites its creative team, but also its stars. Christy Altomare, who takes on the title role, and Derek Klena, who plays her love interest Dmitry, also starred together in Carrie the Musical. And supporting players John Bolton and Caroline O'Connor costarred in A Christmas Story. On opening night, the cast, which also includes Broadway favorite Ramin Karimloo, toasted the occasion with TheaterMania.
