Chris McCarrell, George Salazar, and More Bring Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief to the Stage

The new musical inspired by Rick Riordan's book series is written by Rob Rokicki and Joe Tracz.

First it was a bedtime story. Then it was an extraordinarily popular book series. After that, it became a movie franchise. And now, Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief, the first entry in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, has become a musical. Beginning performances March 23, this new stage adaptation is penned by Rob Rokicki and Joe Tracz, with director Stephen Brackett sailing the ship. At a recent rehearsal, TheaterMania caught up with the cast, including leading men Chris McCarrell and George Salazar, to find out what it's like to bring Riordan's wild mythological world to the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
