Brandy Brings Out the Big Guns for Her Broadway Debut in Chicago

A new kind of Roxie is headed to the Windy City.

Pop star Brandy Norwood, better known to her fans simply as "Brandy," is making her Broadway debut as Chicago's newest Roxie Hart. The cast's longtime Velma Kelly, Amra-Faye Wright, will be the singer's partner in crime for her eight-week engagement at the Ambassador Theatre, which Brandy excitedly describes as a "relaunch of a new me." After getting a sneak peek of her performance, TheaterMania chatted with the production's latest guest star about her transition from the pop charts to the Broadway stage. Her plans for the role include a lot more laughs than your typical murder-trial musical.
