Bradley Cooper Introduces Broadway to Joseph Merrick and The Elephant Man

Cooper appears alongside Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola in Bernard Pomerance's drama, directed by Scott Ellis.

Bradley Cooper returns to Broadway later this week in a role that you wouldn't expect from the person named People Magazine's 2011 Sexiest Man Alive. Cooper is playing a fictionalized version of Joseph Merrick, a real-life figure who lived in Victorian England and was nicknamed, because of his deformities, "The Elephant Man." Beginning November 7, Cooper appears in Bernard Pomerance's play of the same title (in which the character is called John Merrick), alongside Patricia Clarkson as the actress who befriends him and Alessandro Nivola as the doctor who cares for him. Before you see Scott Ellis' revival at the Booth Theatre, see what the stars have to say about this beautiful and misunderstood person from the history books.
