Christina Bianco, Sam Lloyd Jr., Marcus Neville, Tonye Patano, et al. Set for Weston Playhouse Season

Weston Playhouse, in Weston, Vermont, has announced casting for its 12-week summer season, which will kick off with Scrubs star Sam Lloyd, Jr. in the solo show Fully Committed (June 23-July 4). Next up will be the Rachel Sheinkin-William Finn musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (July 9-25), starring Randy Blair as William Barfee, Piper Goodeve as Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre, Susan Haefner as Rona Lisa Peretti, Logan Lipton as Leaf Coneybear, Tracy Michailidis as Olive Ostrovsky, and Marcus Neville as Douglas Panch.

Rent (July 30-August 22) will star Drama Desk nominee Christina Bianco as Maureen, Kristoffer Cusick as Roger, Rona Figueroa as Mimi, Jeremy Leiner as Angel, Stacey Sargeant as Joanne, and Brian Sears as Mark. The Mainstage season will conclude with Lorraine Hansberry’s classic, A Raisin in the Sun (August 27-September 5), which will feature Weeds‘ Tonye Patano as Lena Younger, Wendell Franklin as Walter Younger, Raphael Peacock, and John Leonard Thompson as Karl Lindner.

Weston’s intimate Other Stages venue will feature The Year of Magical Thinking (July 15-August 2), a solo stage adaptation of Joan Didion’s memoir, starring Susan Blommaert. The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) (August 12-September 6) will feature David Bonanno, Susan Haefner, Roger Seyer, and Dorothy Stanley.

In addition, WPTC will present its fifth annual production for young audiences, the E. B. White classic Stuart Little (June 23-July 4), as adapted by Joseph Robinette. The show will play on Weston’s Village Green before touring to outdoor locations across the state, performed by Weston’s Young Company.
