Miss This and You Miss...
A friend told me she did not enjoy this show and went on to find every fault in the world with it. I fault her on her fault finding! Somewhere along the way she said there is too much of "Jesus on Broadway" and that explained it all, too much Jesus. This is not a Jesus-in-the-face musical, not at all. What it also isn't is a blasphemous, every-two-words-a-cuss-word musical, so there, there goes its appeal. For me, what it is is an excellent musical with fantastic, memorable, provocative and very thoughtful lyrics by Glenn Slater and an exciting, dramatic score by Alan Menkin accompanying an impressive, moving book by Janus Cercone and Warren Leight with incredible performances by the entire cast, Raul Esparza and Jessica Phillips in the lead. Suffice it to be so, enough name dropping. Needless to say, I was captivated by this show, it's for the entire family and that made all the difference in the world for me. One more name, Sergio Trujillo, choreographer. When I attend a performance where I want to get up and dance, and my body is contorting and my feet are moving, I enjoyed it and I did. No, I did not get up and dance, yes, I wanted to and yes, I enjoyed it tremendously. Christopher Ashley did what a fine, competent, no, capable director does in his direction of "Leap of Faith," holding it all together, pulling it off, flawlessly. Would I recommend it? Maybe there is a lot of Jesus on Broadway, but if that's the reason for a show like this, Amen, let it be so. I would not only recommend it, but I'm going to see it again.

More Than a GHOST of a Chance
GHOST, the musical, stands more than a ghost of a chance to walk away with a number of Tony awards. It is a production well done, very enjoyable, entertaining, musically and visually impressive. Like many of its kind, we know the story, GHOST, the musical, sticks to the original movie script, more or less. That made me think, more than I would like to, more distractingly than I'd prefer, "Let's see how they're going to pull this off," or "pull that off." It's the nature of this beast. However, it was beautifully accomplished by the cast, technology, the writers, creative teams, musical score. I enjoyed the scoring, unlike many, a song thrown in here and a song thrown in there, the music carries the production through its various parts exceedingly well. For me, however, it was not the music or talented performers or tremendous cast, but the director, Matthew Warchus. He handled this complicated production flawlessly. Couldn't help being amazed at his ability to hold all the pieces together, but most amazingly, for me, was Warchus' use of space, architecture. It is rare to find a director who uses space with such flexibility, such effectiveness, such efficiency. Would I recommend GHOST, the musical, definitely, it's a musical, fun, entertaining, it's a must see! However, after experiencing this highly technological production, I am forced to wonder, does the less technological theater stand a ghost of a chance.

Miss This and You Miss the Best Show Around!
Ingeniously conceived and executed, a production for the entire family. Nothing in this production is inappropriate for children and yet it is entertaining and humorous for both adults and children alike. A one man show of the highest caliber, acrobatics, mime, music and mystery: the entire world turns upside down, even when you "discover" the ability to create your own world! Just when you wonder what in the world could ever come next, you are very pleasantly surprised, forever wishing this show never ends. Very artistic, LEO makes the difficult seem so easy, true art, in my opinion. Would I recommend it? How can I not do so? LEO is the best, if not, one of the best shows I have seen in many, many years. Let's introduce and welcome a new generation to the theater. Let's let LEO do so.

RE:TRACES ~ a must see!
Mason, Valerie, Mathieu, Bradley, Philippe, Xia and Florian~seven performers, one grand, breath-taking, ninety-minute show I will not forget in a very long time~high energy, highly entertaining acrobatics, wonderfully paced performance, incredible showmanship; music that complements the theme of the show, "If the world ended tomorrow, what would you leave behind?" and the precision of a Swiss clock under the direction and choreography of Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider. TRACES is a must see. There is nothing in this show you will not love; you enjoy yourself because the artists enjoy themselves and that is highly contagious. One thing more, the simplicity with which they do their stuff, makes you feel as if you can get up there, join them and do it, too. Please, do not attempt what you see, it is art, making the difficult look easy; none of it is easy but very entertaining.

SAD, Sad, sad...
This is sad news, HIGH closes April 24! Surely, i would love seeing it again before it closes. To me, this is one of the best, most meaningful, memorable plays to have opened in recent years, but the critic have spoken: God is not welcomed on Broadway! Hey, thats what its all about. But since He can not be attacked, lets say, the play sucked, the acting was not good. So sad. I repeat what I previously said, no retractions, only time will tell: Kathleen Turner, Evan Jonigkeit, Stephen Kunken: A fabulous cast, great show. Looking forward to reading the excellent reviews. This show will run a long time and win many, many awards! More can be said, but not needed. Evan is a surprise, a treasure, for sure we will be seeing more of this very talented actor!
