An uninspired bore
Annie Baker wanted the dialogue to be more realistic than the quicker-than-reality dialogue typically found in theatre. Fine. But what we get is inordinately looooong pauses. The dialogue isn't clever or compelling, so during the silences there's nothing to contemplate. There's no plot and the characters aren't interesting and don't change. Seems like the play was written in an afternoon.
