RE:A mad romp!
I was very impressed with this show. At first, the thought of another remake of Shakespeare set me off a bit, but I was quickly won over. The cast is winning and lovely to watch, especially the leads playing Kira and Cruz, and Tom and Bennett.
That the director was able to weave fourteen players in the tiny theatrical space of the Dorothy Strelsin is a testament to his skills; well-done!
I loved the script. the writers did an excellent job incorporating bit of the original text and storyline without being slavishly devoted to it.
All that said, I would really have preferred to see it on a proper stage with real sets, but the cast ad director made the most of the black box that they could. Though surely some small set pieces could have been incorporated, even here.
All in all it was a lot of fun, and I hope to see it again.
