We thought this show would be very tourist-y and predictable; however, this is a wonderful fun show for the whole family and the music is great! This is a show worth seeing. We loved it

Lion King
When Lion King opened, we got tickets right away because of Julie Taymor the set designer and director. She is a genus of the theater. This is a truly unique and wonderful show. We loved it good for the whole family. And, if you like the design ideas of Julie Taymor, try to see The Magic Flute Mozart at the Metropolitan Opera,,,she designed the sets and costumes for this opera and they are tremendous!

A Little Night Music
This revival is the best show Stephen Sondheim has ever written. The cast is excellent, the sets are very imaginative and the music is beautiful. We thought that Catherine Zeta-Jones might not be up to it....but she is. We loved this show.

In The Heights
We saw this show before it opened on Bway and kept saying to each other, that it was a Westside Story wanna be. We guessed that it would move to Bway because it had a certain zip.....but we never thought it was anything but a Westside Story wanna be. If anyone reading this, has NOT seen Westside Story, then you might like this show. But go see Westside Story first, and then "Heights" and you will feel the same way. Nothing can touch Westside Story, which is a fantastic fantastic must-see musical.

Phantom of the Opera
This musical has been running for so long, I cant believe there is anyone in the U.S. or Europe who has NOT seen it. If you are one of those stragglers who has missed this beautiful time in the theater......then run and get tickets. This is probably the best musical that Andrew Lloyd Webber has ever put together.....beautiful music, the plot pushes all the right buttons, great acting, fabulous sets and costumes and flawless direction. Webber will never write a show as stunning as this one, again......he said this himself and we agree. This is a theater experience that should not be missed.

Promises Promises
We didnt think we would like this show. We thought it would be dated. But it wasnt. This show is as fabulous now as it ever was. The comedic beautiful writing of Neil Simon is what enabled this show to remain relevant. And, with excellent material, all of the actors performed magnificently. The plot is cute, the acting and singing is perfect, the sets are very imaginative and the directing is flawless. We woulnt change one thing in this wonderful show. We really had an excellent time. We loved this show.

The 39 Steps
Maybe you have to be in a certain mood to see this.......or maybe you have to have had a couple of drinks, to think this is funny. We just didnt like it at all. We like Hitchcock, but didnt like this spoof about Hitchcocks material We felt that all of the attempt at humor was strained and fell flat. It might be a matter of personal taste, but we just didnt like anything about this show and we go to the theater at least 30 to 40 times a year.....each year.

THIS IS WHAT THEATER IS ALL ABOUT! This is an electfifying theater experience not to be missed. This show should win the Tony Award for best play, best acting both actors were stupendous, but especially Molina, most imaginative sets, best direction. This is the thrill of top theater, when the best of everything converges. Here is genius all around.....and breathtaking theater!

God of Carnage
We got tickets just to see James Gandolfini because we were addicted to The Sopranos. Although, this was type casting, we enjoyed him, well enough and the whole cast did a good job. The weakness is in the play. Its very hard to sit in the same living room set and listen to dialog for a long time, unless the writing is brilliant, which this isnt. So, we got restless. We would say that this is typically good theater, but nothing to go into credit card debt, over. For us, without Gandolfini, we would not have bothered to see this show.......and we see a lot of theater each month.

A Behanding in Spokane
Probably if you are high on something, you will have a fabulous time and never stop laughing. However, we were going to see another Martin McDonaugh play and to see Christopher Walken on stage. The last thing we saw of McDonaugh was his brilliant film, In Bruges, with Colin Farrell. So-o back to "Behanding".....without Christopher Walken this play would fall flat and even with Walken, unless you are sitting way up front and can actually see the little facial grins, smirks and Walken mannerism.......this play becomes very boring.......we would not recommend seeing this, unless you can get seats close to the stage.

RE:The Nose
We see at least 10 operas at the Met each season. We are subscribers to the NY Metropolitan Opera, and chose to get these tickets as extras, in addition to our subscription of 8 operas. We enjoyed this opera very much because it was something quite different, from what we are accustomed to seeing, on the Met stage, using a whole new vocabulary of multimedia to accompany the story. We got these extra tickets because we knew that the voice of Paul Szot South Pacific is beautiful. Of course, the music in "Nose" is in no way like, South Pacific; however, Szot does not disappoint.........his voice and his acting are superb and the whole show is worth seeing. The subject matter and plot are deadly serious......a denouncment of Stalins era of communism, lightened by the comic creations attached to the "Nose." Do not expect a typical Bway musical.

RE:Attila
We see about 10 operas each year. We are Metropolitan Opera subscribers and supporters. We did not like this opera. It dragged and never reached any high and/or interesting levels, which most operas do. We love Verdi, but this opera did not deliver anything for us. We would not recommend seeing this opera, but definitely would recommend trying more operas at the Met.
