Sara Gettelfinger will play Cruella De Vil in the national tour of The 101 Dalmatians Musical, beginning with its engagement at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre, running February 16-28. She replaces Rachel York, who will depart the production on January 31, at the end of the tour’s stop in East Lansing, Michigan.

Gettelfinger’s many theater credits include the Broadway productions of Seussical, Anything Goes, Nine, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Off-Broadway, she played “Little” Edie Beale in Grey Gardens.

Adapted from Dodie Smith’s 1957 novel (which is well known due to Disney’s beloved animated film version), 101 Dalmatians revolves around a canine family that must band together to overcome every hurdle and hardship in the most difficult times, including the machinations of Cruella de Vil. The tour is directed by Jerry Zaks and features a score by Dennis DeYoung and a book by B.T. McNicholl.

The company also features Chip Abbott, Joel Blum, Sammy Borla, Lakisha Anne Bowen, Jeff Scot Carey, Kristy Cavanaugh, Lydia Rose Clemente, Piper Curda, Joseph Dellger, Madeleine Doherty, Garrett Hawe, Michael Thomas Holmes, Robert Anthony Jones, Kevin C. Loomis, Erin Maguire, Mike Masters, Neal Mayer, Catherine Missal, Erin Mosher, Ah-Niyah Yonay Neal, Catia Ojeda, Clark Kelley Oliver, Chuck Ragsdale, Molly Sorohan, Kendra Tate, Austin Zambito-Valente and Emma Zaks, along with James Ludwig who plays Pongo.

Following its engagement in Chicago, the tour is scheduled to play Columbus, OH (March 2-7), Indianapolis, IN (March 9-14), and Providence, RI (March 16-21). In April, the musical is scheduled to play the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
