WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
With exotic masks and costumes, Disney's adaptation of its popular animated movie is visually stunning. The 1998 Tony Award winning show features music by Elton John and Tim Rice. Directed by visionary Julie Taymor, The Lion King follows royal lion cub Simba, as he grows up and learns what it means to be a king. The stage show features 15 musical numbers. African sounds and rhythms are fused with western popular music and amazing puppetry to create this unique and inventful musical.
