WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Born Ready/Smokescreen focuses on s two black youths growing up in Scarborough and the devasting effects of today's urban gun culture. With themes revolving around youth at-risk, both plays offer a frank and honest theatrical take on the seductive appeal of guns and drugs - and the consequences of their use.
Born Ready by Joseph Jomo Pierre and Smokescreen by David S. Craig present a comprehensive look at extremely relevant issues facing today's youth. This exciting double bill is complete with youth forums, question and answer periods and late night concerts with outreach to youth audiences ages 13-20 across Toronto during Black History Month.
