Margaret Atwood Develops Theater Piece to Promote Year of the Flood Novel

Margaret Atwood has developed an original theater piece as a way of promoting her new novel The Year of the Flood, according to a report in The Globe and Mail. This one hour performance will be staged in Ottawa, Toronto, Sudbury, Kingston, Calgary and Vancouver, as well five cities outside of Canada.

Atwood will serve as narrator for the piece and she will be joined by three local actors. Additionally, an original score by Orville Stoeber, will be performed. Stoeber’s music has also been recorded and is available on CD.

Atwood’s latest novel is set in the same post-apocalyptic future as her last, Oryx and Crake , and chronicles the onset of a pandemic and the small group that survives it.
