Robert Lepage to Stage Cirque du Soleil’s New Touring Show

Acclaimed writer-director Robert Lepage is staging Cirque du Soleil’s new touring show, according to the company’s website. The production, temporarily entitled Cirque 2010, is scheduled to begin performances on April 22 in Montreal. The piece will then be seen in Quebec, where performances will begin on July 22. Additional tour details, along with the official name of the production, will be announced at a later date.

The new show is described as dealing with “human evolution, its myths and legends, and the search for balance.”

Lepage is the founder of Ex Machina, a multidisciplinary production company, which has produced critically acclaimed works, including The Seven Streams of the River Ota, Elsinore, Geometry of Miracles, and The Far Side of the Moon.
