Olivia Newton-John to Star in Hockey Movie Musical Score

Olivia Newton-John will co-star in the movie musical Score: A Hockey Musical, according to a report in The Associated Press. Michael McGowan will direct the film, which begins shooting in Toronto next week.

Newton-John will play the mother of a teen hockey phenomenon. In addition, she is slated to co-write and perform a song for the film’s final credits, along with Canadian singer-songwriter Marc Jordan, who plays her character’s husband.

The singer-actress starred in the movie musicals Grease and Xanadu. In addition, she has been one of the world’s top-selling recording artists. This spring, she is scheduled to guest star on the hit FOX series Glee, singing one of her hits, “Let’s Get Physical.”
