1 What a breath of fresh air ... Performers who dont have to also sub for the band in a Sondheim show!
2 I believe the fine singing actress who plays the mother and even closed the final Yul Brynner tour as Mrs. Anna is Mary BETH Peil.
That was probably just a typo that was not caught.

It sounds like the film collaborators, including John Logan, have been respectful of "Sweeney" yet made sure it works as a film. The previews also look and sound amazing - I hope it wins every award in Hollywood and abroad!

A few weeks ago someone commented as to why a site called "Theatre Mania" was doing a feature on a film. Now, you are at it again. If the film was based on a play or stage musical, if it was created, starring, penned by, or produced by "theatre folk" - I could understand. But arent there other features you could find to enlighten and entertain the loyal readers of your site?
