Dallas Theater Center (DTC) has announced the lineup for its 55th season, which will include a seven play subscription season to take place in the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

The season kicks off with the classic A Raisin in the Sun, running from September 13 - Oct. 27, directed by Tre Garrett. For the holiday season, a new adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, running November 21 - December 24, will premiere at the Wyly featuring special effects from flying ghosts to falling snow that will put the audience in the middle of the action. This new production is adapted and directed by DTC's Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty and choreographed by Joel Ferrell.

The Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning Clybourne Park. running from October 4 - October 27, by Bruce Norris and directed by Joel Ferrell, takes the Wyly stage back to A Raisin in the Sun's unforgettable neighborhood rife with tension in 1959 after the first African-American family moves in, and 50 years later, when the primarily African-American neighborhood battles against gentrification.

Luis Alfaro's Oedipus el Rey, running from January 16 - March 2, transforms Sophocles' timeless Greek tragedy into a contemporary story about a young Chicano ex-con's journey to become the king of violent, gang-ridden South Central L.A. Directed by Kevin Moriarty, this play tackles the vicious cycle of fate and violence and the reality of today's L.A. barrios.

Co-produced by The Public Theater, The Fortress of Solitude, running from March 7 - April 6, is a world premiere musical based on the best-selling novel by Jonathan Lethem. Conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, The Fortress of Solitude depicts a story of two motherless boys who become friends despite racial segregation in 1970's America. Playwright Itamar Moses and lyricist Michael Friedman bring a world of soul, funk, superheroes, and graffiti-tagging to life on the Wyly stage.

Directed by Kevin Moriarty, Steven Dietz' Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, running from April 25 - May 25, is based on the original 1899 play by William Gillette and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The world's greatest detective and his trusted sidekick Doctor Watson takes on longtime adversary, Professor Moriarty, in a case of blackmail, intrigue, humor and surprise.

The epic, award-winning stage and screen musical Les Misérables, running from June 27 - Aug. 10, by Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, rounds out DTC's 55th season.
