Asolo Repertory Theatre will present the new musical Bonnie & Clyde, beginning November 12 with an opening set for November 19. The run, to feature direction and musical staging by Jeff Calhoun, is being billed as a "pre-Broadway engagement."

Featuring a book by Ivan Menchell, music by Frank Wildhorn, and lyrics by Don Black, the musical examines how a troubled Texas teen and a love-sick waitress became America's most infamous couple. The musical premiered at La Jolla Playhouse last year. Casting and additional details for the Asolo production will be announced at a later date.

Asolo's 2010-2011 season will also include Reginald Rose's courtroom drama Twelve Angry Men (January 14-March 31), Marc Camoletti's comedy Boeing Boeing (January 21-April 23), David Hirson, La Bête (The Beast) (January 7-February 21), Ira Levn's classic whodunit Deathtrap (March 11-May 14), Lynn Nottage's Las Meninas (The Waiting Women) (March 18-May 15), and Hershey Felder's solo show, George Gershwin Alone May 19-June 5). Asolo Rep will also present the world premiere of a new play to be announced, running April 15-May 14.

Additionally, Asolo Rep's New Stages project will present Antigone Now, by Melissa Cooper in October 2010. In 2011 Asolo Rep will bring back ASOLO REP UNPLUGGED: theatre in the raw, a play festival.
