Full Cast Set for Broadway’s Wonderland Musical

Complete casting has been announced for Wonderland – A New Alice. A New Musical, which will play a pre-Broadway engagement at the Ferguson Hall at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, Florida, January 4-16, 2011. The production will begin a Broadway run at the Marquis Theatre on March 21, 2011 in anticipation of an opening on April 17.

Featuring music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Jack Murphy, and a book by Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy, the show will be directed by Boyd, with choreography by Marguerite Derricks.

The musical is a story about a new Alice who has lost her joy in life. Estranged from her husband, alienated from her daughter and in danger of losing her career, Alice finds herself in Wonderland where she encounters strange though familiar characters that help her rediscover the wonder in her life while searching for her daughter.

The principal cast will include Janet Dacal (Alice), Darren Ritchie (White Knight), E. Clayton Cornelious (Caterpillar), Jose Llana (El Gato), Karen Mason (Queen of Hearts), Kate Shindle (Mad Hatter), Carly Rose Sonenclar (Chloe) and Edward Staudenmayer (White Rabbit), and Danny Stiles (Morris). The previously reported Tituss Burgess is no longer in the cast.

The ensemble includes April Berry, Grady Bowman, Sae La Chin, Dan Domenech, Mallauri Esquibel, Derek Ferguson, Wilkie Ferguson, Laura Hall, Natalie Hill, Lauren Lim Jackson, Morgan James, Ryan Link, Kate Loprest, Renee Martin, Heather Parcells, Stefan Raulston, Julius Anthony Rubio, and Tanairi Vasquez.

The design team is comprised of Neil Patel (set), Susan Hilferty (costume), Paul Gallo (lighting), Peter Hylenski (sound), and Sven Ortel (video and projection).
