Davis Gaines, Faith Prince Set for Guys and Dolls with Orlando Philharmonic; Joshua Bell Part of 2010-2011 Season

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra has announced the programming for its 2010-2011 season, with the ten concerts comprising its main series to all be presented at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre.

Tony Award winner Faith Prince will play Miss Adelaide opposite Davis Gaines as Sky Masterson in a concert version of Mad Cow Theatre’s Guys and Dolls on Saturday, October 9 at 2pm and 8pm. Alan Bruun will direct, with Christopher Wilkins as conductor.

Grammy Award winning-violinist Joshua Bell will perform on Saturday, May 14, with other Philharmonic events including Resurrection Symphony featuring Janette Zilioli and Sarah Limper (September 25); Myth and Poetry which includes Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet (October 30); Florian Richter in Home for the Holidays (November 27); Young Romantics including Rossini’s overture to The Barber of Seville (January 8); That’s Amore, including a tribute to Luciano Pavarotti (January 29); My Favorite Things: The Music of Richard Rodgers (February 19); My Classical Masters (April 9); and Paul McCartney: A Symphonic Tribute (April 22 and 23).
