Craig Lucas’ New Play to Be Read at 2010 Greenfield Prize Ceremony

A new play by Craig Lucas will be read as part of the 2010 Greenfield Prize Celebration in Sarasota, Florida on April 15. Members of the Asolo Repertory Theatre will participate in the reading. Lucas, the first winner of the Greenfield Prize for Drama, will work on the play this coming year.

The 2010 Greenfield Prize will be given to a mid-career visual artist. It includes a $30,000 commission, a six-week residency at the Hermitage Artists Retreat in Englewood, Florida, and a partnership with a professional arts organization.

Lucas’ many plays include Prelude to a Kiss, Reckless, The Dying Gaul, Prayer for My Enemy, and The Singing Forest. He also wrote the book for The Light in the Piazza.
