FUNDarte’s Out in the Tropics to Present Teatro El Público’s Staging of Caligula

FUNDarte’s Out in the Tropics is set to present Cuban company Teatro El Público’s staging of Caligula, June 14-16 at the Colony Theater. Carlos Díaz directs.

In this U.S. premiere staging, the tyrannical Caligula is given a contemporary face, inciting audiences to witness other forms of misconduct beyond the sexual. The play will be presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

The cast will feature Fernando Hechavarría, Carlos Caballero, Broseliana Hernández, Osvaldo Doimeadiós, Ismercy Salomón, Yeyé Báez, Lester Martinez, Yanier Palmero, Javier Fano, Yerandi Basart, and Carlos Riverón.

Original music is by Ulises Hernandez and costume design is by Vladimir Cuenca and Carlos Diaz.
