Florida Studio Theatre Announces 2009 Summerfest Season

Florida Studio Theatre has announced the programing for their 2009 Summerfest Season, set to feature three plays in the Keating Theatre.

The season will open with A Marvelous Party!, June 3-26, a celebration of Noël Coward’s works and life devised by David Ira Goldstein, Mark Anders, and Patricia Wilcox, including songs such as “Mad About the Boy,” “I’ll Follow My Heart,” and “I’ve Been to a Marvelous Party.” The cast will feature Carl Danielsen, Stefanie Morse, and Robin Haynes with Todd Lindemood on piano and Tony Bruno on drums. Fred Weiss will direct.

The second summer selection will be Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine, July 1-24, a one-woman show about an ordinary housewife on an extraordinary adventure, starring Susan Greenhill with direction by Kate Alexander. The summer season will conclude with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), July 29-August 21, a romp through all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays created by Jess Borgeson, Adam Long, and Daniel Singer. Casting will be announced at a later date.
