Mary Ellen Ashley, Cody Nickell, et al. Set for Gulfshore Playhouse’s Blithe Spirit

Gulfshore Playhouse has announced casting for its production of Noel Coward’s comedy Blithe Spirit, to run April 7-23. Kristen Coury will direct.

The play is the story of a cantankerous novelist, Charles Condomine, who is re-married but haunted — literally — by the ghost of his late first wife, Elvira. When a “happy medium”, one Madame Arcati, conjures up the specter of his former spouse, all the personalities, worldly and otherwise, clash with uproarious results.

The cast will feature Cody Nickell as Charles, Beth Hylton as Ruth, Mary Ellen Ashley as Madame Arcati, Caroline Hewitt as Elvira, Jeff Williams as Dr. Bradman, Gillian Wiggin as Mrs. Bradman, and Morgan Rosse as Edith.

The production will feature scenic and lighting design by Dennis W. Moyes, with costumes and properties by Jennifer Murray.
