The South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center will present the dance company Evidence, February 18 at 8pm.

Evidence Artistic Director Ronald K. Brown uses movement to acquaint audiences with the beauty of traditional African forms and rhythms as well as to reinforce the importance of community in African American culture. The evening will include Brown’s dances On Earth Together, inspired by the music of Stevie Wonder, Ife: My Heart, and Upside Down.

In addition to his work with Evidence, Brown has created work for dance companies including African American Dance Ensemble, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Cinque Folkloric Dance theater, and more. Recently, Brown choreographed the currently running Broadway production of The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess.
