David Elder, Tari Kelly, Christianne Tisdale, David Schmittou to Star in Stages St. Louis’ Drowsy Chaperone

David Elder, Tari Kelly, Christianne Tisdale, and David Schmittou will head the cast of the Stages St. Louis production of The Drowsy Chaperone, set to play at the Robert G. Reim Theater, July 15-August 16. Michael Hamilton will direct.

In the musical, a die-hard musical theatre fan plays his favorite cast album, a 1928 smash hit called The Drowsy Chaperone, and the show magically bursts to life before him.

Schmittou will star as Man in Chair, Elder as Robert Martin, Kelly as Janet Van De Graaff, and Tisdale as The Drowsy Chaperone. Rounding out the cast are Edward Juvier as Adolpho, Ed Romanoff as Feldzeig, Kari Ely as Mrs. Tottendale, John Alban Coughlin as Underling, Brian Ogilvie as George, Melinda Cowan as Kitty, Ben Nordstrom and Michael Baxter as Gangsters, and Zoe Vonder Haar as Trix. The ensemble also includes Patrick Martin, Laura Ernst, Andrew Kreup, Taylor Pietz, Nathan Garland and Katy Tibbets.

The creative team will include Lisa Campbell Albert (musical direction), Lou Bird (costume design), Dana Lewis (choreography), Matthew McCarthy (lighting design), and James Wolk (scenic design).
