Bogardus, Harada, et al. Set for St. Louis MUNY’s High School Musical

Broadway veterans Stephen Bogardus and Ann Harada will be part of the St. Louis MUNY production of High School Musical, to run June 23-July 2. Alan Muraoka will direct.

The musical features a book by David Simpatico, adapted from the original movie script by Peter Barsocchini. As previously announced, the production will star Colin Donnel as Troy and Andrea Goss as Gabriela. Bogardus will portray Coach Bolton/Karaoke MC, while Harada will play Ms. Darbus/Ms. Tenny.

The cast will also feature Etai BenShlomo (Jack Scott), Brandon Bieber (Ryan Evans), Gretchen Bieber (Sharpay Evans), Tallia Brinson (Taylor McKessie), Will Burton (Mongo), Ted Ely (Ripper/Performance Art Kid), Lora Lee Gayer (Cyndra), Andrea Goss (Gabriella Montez), Angeline Holmes (Martha Cox), Ryan Huber (Jason/Performance Art Kid), Ian Joseph (Alan), Justin Keyes (Zeke Baylor), Jessie Kohut (Cathy), Ashley Krupinski (Dance Captain), Max Kumangai (Kratnoff), Anne Markt (Performance Art Kid), Megan McGinnis (Kelsi Nielson/ Moderator), David Morton (James), Sydney Morton (Susan), and Christopher Spaulding (Chad Danforth). The ensemble will also include Kayla Hall, Julie Kavanagh, Tony Neidenbach, Frankie Paparone, Emily Knox Peterson, Michaeljon Slinger, Carlye Tamaren, and Borris York.

The creative team will include Liza Gennaro (choreographer), Edward G. Robinson (musical director), Steve Gilliam (scenic design), Jason Krueger (sound design), and
David Lander (lighting design).

St. Louis MUNY is currently presenting Mel Brooks’ The Producers, June 16-22, headed by Lewis J. Stadlen as Max Bialystock, Don Stephenson as Leo Bloom, Anthony Cummings as Franz Liebkind, Larry Raben as Carmen Ghia, Lee Roy Reams as Roger DeBris, and Angie Schworer as Ulla.

The summer season will also include My Fair Lady (July 7-13), starring Robert Westenberg as Henry Higgins, Catherine Brunnell as Eliza Doolittle, and Daniel Reichard as Freddy Einsford-Hill; the revue 90 Years of Muny Magic (July 14-20), with a cast featuring Michel Bell, James Clow, Beth Leavel, Ken Page, and Betsy Wolfe; Miss Saigon (July 21-27), starring Francis Jue, Eric Kunze, and Ma-Anne Dionisio; My One and Only (July 28-August 3) featuring Dirk Lumbard and Jeff McCarthy; and Fiddler on the Roof (August 4-10), starring Bruce Adler and Leslie Denniston.
