Ashley Brown, David Gallo, Evan Jonigkeit, et al. Win Kevin Kline Awards

The winners of the Kevin Kline Awards, honoring the best in St. Louis-area theater, have been announced. The awards were presented in a ceremony held on Monday, March 28 at the Loretto-Hilton Theater.

High, which was presented by Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, received three awards, including one for Evan Jonigkeit as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Play, as well as ones for scenic designer David Gallo and lighting designer John Lasiter. All of these artists are part of the Broadway production of the work, currently in previews at the Booth Theatre.

Among the other winners are Ashley Brown, who won Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her performance The Sound of Music at The Muny, Ben Nordstrom who received the Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his work in Stages St. Louis’ Promises, Promises, and Jim Butz and Kari Ely, whose work in Hamlet at Shakespeare Festival St. Louis and Long Day’s Journey Into Night at Muddy Waters, respectively, earned top honors in non-musical performance categories.
