Garden State Parkway South To exit 145 to Route 280 West. Follow "280 West" directions below.
Garden State Parkway North To exit 142 (STAY TO EXTREME RIGHT AT TOLL BOOTH PRIOR TO EXIT). Take Route 78 East to exit 54 (Hillside) and follow signs to Route 78 West (crossing over Route 78 and getting back on the westbound side). Follow "78 West"? directions.
New Jersey Turnpike South To exit 15W to Route 280 West. Follow "280 West" directions below.
New Jersey Turnpike North To exit 14 (Route 78 West LOCAL). Follow "78 West" directions below.
78 West To exit 50B. Proceed onto Vauxhall Road and go three traffic lights to intersection with Valley Street. Make a right onto Valley; continue to South Orange Avenue. Make a left and proceed to third traffic light, SOPAC Way. Make a left into parking lot.
78 East To exit 49B. Follow signs to "Valley Street" jughandle (approx. 3/10 mile once you are off of exit ramp and onto Springfield Ave.) Make a right into jughandle (to effectively make a left onto Valley Street) and proceed on Valley to South Orange Avenue. Turn left and proceed to third traffic light, SOPAC Way. Make a left into parking lot.
From 280 East To exit 9 (Mt. Pleasant Avenue.) Make a hard right turn onto Mt. Pleasant and go to the first traffic light. Make a left at the light onto Gregory Avenue and follow directions from this point under "280 WEST."
From 280 West To exit 10. Take first left at traffic light onto Northfield Avenue. Proceed three traffic lights to Gregory Avenue; make a left onto Gregory and proceed 1.3 miles to South Orange (at this point Gregory changes to Wyoming Avenue.) Stay on Wyoming to next light (South Orange Avenue); turn left. Go to second traffic light and turn right onto SOPAC Way.
By N.J. Transit Train
South Orange is a quick 25 minute ride from New York City's Penn Station. Take the Midtown Direct line to South Orange; descend the stairs from the center of the platform to the station lobby and exit through the door to your right. Walk under the trestle; SOPAC's entrance is to your right. Elevators from the platform open under the trestle; walk through to SOPAC's entrance. Trains run regularly weekdays, weekends and evenings. By N.J. Transit Bus
The 92 Orange Crosstown line runs between Newark's Branch Brook Park City Subway Station and the South Orange train station. The 107 line runs between New York City's Port Authority Bus Terminal and Sloan St. in South Orange.
