English comedian, actor and writer John Oliver is best known to US audiences for his work as the Senior British Correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where he won a 2009 Emmy Award for his writing. He also plays Professor Ian Duncan on the hit TV series Community, hosts John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show, and was a regular on the series Important Things with Demetri Martin. He won the Breakout Award at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival, and his own Comedy Central Special is John Oliver: Terrifying Times. He has collaborated with Andy Zaltzman on hundreds of hours of satirical podcasts and radio broadcasts, including the BBC Radio shows Political Animal and The Department, and the satirical podcast The Bugle. His film roles include Dick Pants in The Love Guru, and voicing Vanity Smurf in The Smurfs film.
