Still a musical celebration of camaraderie and brotherhood after more than three decades together, 38 Special's signature Southern Rock sound has produced more than 15 albums since 1976, with sales excess of 20 million copies. Their five releases between 1980 and 1986 all reached the Top 100, with four going Gold or Platinum. Their timeless hit singles remain a staple of rock radio, including "Hold On Loosely," "Rockin' Into the Night," "Caught Up in You," "Fantasy Girl," "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys," "If I'd Been the One," "Back Where You Belong," "Chain Lightnin'," and "Second Chance."
The current lineup includes original recording members Don Barnes (guitar), Donnie Van Zant (vocals), and Larry Junstrom (bass), plus Danny Chauncey (guitars/vocals), a member since 1987; keyboardist, Bobby Capps (1991); and drummer, Gary Moffat (1997). Their most recent release is Live from Texas (2011).
