Suzzanne Douglas Joins Cast of Two River Theater’s In This House
Suzzanne Douglas has joined the company of the world premiere musical In This House, presented by Two River Theater Company through April 8. She replaces the previously announced Brenda Pressley in the role of Luisa Arden, as Pressley will soon be featured in the Broadway production of The Lyons.
The show is described as a chamber musical about two couples — one at the beginning, the other at the end of their time together — who meet accidentally and spend an evening together in a deserted house on New Year’s Eve.
In This House features a score by Grammy Award winner Mike Reid and Sarah Schlesinger, and a book by Reid, Schlesinger and Jonathan Bernstein. The production is directed by May Adrales with music direction by James Sampliner. The cast also features Chuck Cooper, Jeff Kready, and Margo Siebert.
Douglas is an award-winning actor, singer, and producer. She most recently appeared in New York in the world premiere of Kara Lee Corthron’s Julius by Design. On Broadway, she appeared in 3 Penny Opera, Into the Woods, and The Tap Dance Kid. Her film credits include Tap, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and Jason’s Lyric, and her television credits include starring in the long-running family sitcom The Parent ‘Hood.
