Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Kevin Mambo, et al. Set for The Convert at McCarter Theatre
McCarter Theatre Center has announced casting for Danai Gurira’s The Convert, to run January 13 – February 12. Emily Mann will direct the production, being offered in association with Los Angeles’ Center Theatre Group and Chicago’s Goodman Theatre.
The play, set in 1895, centers a young woman who is forced to choose between her family’s traditions and the Christian faith and Western values she has embraced.
The company will feature Pascale Armand, Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Zainab Jah, Kevin Mambo, LeRoy McClain, Warner Joseph Miller, and Harold Surratt.
The creative team will include scenic designer Daniel Ostling, costume designer Paul Tazewell, lighting designer Lap Chi Chu, and sound designer Darron L West.
