Riches is Lee Blessing's treatise on marriage. The action is initiated when Carolyn suddenly confronts David with a problem during what seems to be an idyllic anniversary weekend in the middle of the country in the middle of a marriage - a problem David never knew existed. The play consists of his struggle to understand and her struggle to explain what has gone wrong. In the process, they both reveal they are two enormously complex people caught in a turbulent moment of self-discovery.
