WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Seattle Repertory Theatre presents George Bernard Shaw's witty comedy Misalliance, directed by the Rep's Artistic Director, Sharon
Ott. A giddy clash of generations, filled with romantic liaisons and hilarious
physical comedy, the play is Shaw's exploration of family dynamics at
the turn of the century. Hypatia Tarleton, daughter of underwear magnate
John Tarleton, feels stuck in her comfortable-but-predictable upper-class
life. Nothing interesting ever happens to her, and she's bored to
desperation by the constant chatter of those around her. Observes her
father, "She's not satisfied. Restless. Wants things to happen. Wants
adventures to drop out of the sky." Suddenly, that's just what happens,
literally. Misalliance is a clever, fast-moving, thought-provoking, and
delightful play about class, gender, age, race, imperialism, and the human
obsession with sex.

Opening night is Monday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m.

There is an additional Wednesday matinee on October 29 at 2:00 p.m.
