(© Joseph Marzullo/WENN) | Tony Award winner Bill Irwin will star in Seattle Rep's "Broadway-bound" production of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, January 15-February 14. The show will be directed by Tony winner Garry Hynes.
Considered by many to be the most significant English language play of the 20th Century, this absurdist comedy places two Charlie Chaplin-like tramps in the middle of nowhere to await the mysterious Godot.
Irwin won the Tony for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and also starred on Broadway in such shows as The Goat and Fool Moon. He most recently appeared on stage in The Happiness Lecture at Philadelphia Theatre Company.
Hynes won the Tony for directing The Beauty Queen of Leenane and recently directed the Broadway revival of Translations.
