 | | Joanna Horowitz | Joanna Horowitz's one-woman country musical 100 Heartbreaks will premiere at the Capital Hill Arts Center, February 15 - March 1. The show will be directed by Jennifer Zeyl with musical direction by John Osebold.
100 Heartbreaks combines storytelling with live country music inspired by the likes of Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. In the show, aspiring country singer Charlane Tucker has been hitting dive bars across the U.S. trying to polish her act and find 100 men who will love and leave her to build her "country cred" so she will be taken seriously in Nashville.
Horowitz is a writer, actor and alt-country singer whose credits include Suzan-Lori Parks' 365 Plays/Days project, and directing for ArtsWest and Youth Theatre Northwest. Zeyl is a designer, director, and recipient of The Stranger's 2006 Genius Award in Theatre. The creative team for this production will include Nadia Kaboul (costume design), Erika Stoll (lighting design), and Zeyl (set design).
