WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Intiman Playhouse season launches with Artistic Director Bartlett Sher's production of Thornton Wilder's The Skin of Our Teeth. Wilder received Pulitzer Prizes for both Our Town and this dazzling play about a typical American family--in a not-so-typical American family drama. Wilder's allegorical Everyfamily (think Adam and Eve, married for 5,000 years and representing the whole human race) live in a world continuously at risk of being trampled by a dinosaur, threatened by an iceberg, ravaged by a flood and ruined by war. Wilder's comedy is a tribute to the indomitable human will to triumph over natural and man-made disasters alike--if only by the skin of our teeth.
