WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A man with a mysterious past enters a small town bar and seduces the spirited barmaid, and the entire town, with his storytelling. J.M. Synge's Irish masterpiece The Playboy of the Western World--an "extravagant comedy," in the words of its author, with a darkly modern undercurrent--is rich with language, imagination and spirit. Kate Whoriskey directs and Daniel Breaker (A Doctor in Spite of Himself at Intiman and a Tony nominee for Passing Strange) stars.
