You can take the boy off a pirate ship... but not without a series of irreverent mix-ups and effervescent adventures that only Gilbert and Sullivan could cook up. The Pirates of Penzance mixes swordplay with wordplay as young Frederic tries to escape his apprenticeship to the Pirate King. But there is honor among thieves, and even a bevy of beauties might not be able to change his destiny.
