The monkeys are swinging 'cause there's jazz in the jungle! But not all the cats are cool. Just ask Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie, and the gang. They sing and dance their way through crazy adventures to defeat the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan. But with classic Disney tunes, like "The Bare Necessities," and "I Wan'na Be Like You," who could stay ferocious? Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS is sure to be a favorite for the animal in everyone!
Taking a contemporary spin on the jungle theme, this KIDSTAGE adaptation uses a playground jungle gym to be analogous to the jungle backdrop of the story. Dressed in street clothes, students act out the traits of their animal characters on the playground, creating an updated story to which everyone can relate.
The full-scale musical production features 29 students in fourth through eighth grade with professionally-designed costumes, sets, lights, and sound.
The show is directed and choreographed by Jessica Low, with musical direction by Emily Lauckhart, scenic design by Scott Fyfe, and lighting design by Willian McCoubrey.
