WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Author Roald Dahl's (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach) beloved story of Sophie and her newfound friend, the gentle BFG, is a funny, thrilling, adventurous romp around the world and into dreamland. One of Dahl's best-selling books, The Big Friendly Giant was published in 1982 and had its theatrical premiere in 1990, with a successful tour throughout the United Kingdom. The play is an adaptation by David Wood, who has written approximately 50 plays for children and is acclaimed by The Times as being the UK's "National children's dramatist."
