WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Obie Award-winning play by Arnlin Gray, How I Got That Story is a dark comedy about war, the media, and which one is more frightening. A naïve journalist journeys into war-torn Southeast Asia during the 1960s. In his search for "the story" he encounters 21 different characters, including soldiers, villagers, bar girls, orphans, a Buddhist monk, a drug addict, and a guerrilla fighter. With wild humor and chilling horror, How I Got That Story vividly illuminates issues surrounding current events in Iraq and Afghanistan. When it comes to war reporting, exactly what is news? What isn't? And who gets to make that decision?
Due to language and content, this show is recommended for ages 15 and up.
