Enter the world of Colman Domingo, a world brimming with life, language and music. As his parents get ready to sell the family's house in West Philadelphia, Domingo unearths a record collection that kicks off a jubilant trip through the sounds and memories of his childhood and adolescence. With the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Aretha filling the theater, Colman dances, sings, and portrays each family member as the show moves between the joyous hubbub of a lively, loving family and the internal struggles of a young, gay black man growing up and coming out in the 70s and 80s. Big and brave, or small and sweet, Colman's rendition of growing up on vinyl delivers on soul and spirit.
