Seattle to Establish Historic Theatre District

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn signed a resolution to create a Downtown Historic Theatre District in a ceremony at 5th Avenue Theatre on Tuesday, December 6, according to published reports.

Under the resolution, which was approved unanimously by The Seattle City Council, qualifying theaters for historic district designation include The Moore Theatre est. 1907; Town Hall, est. 1922; Eagles Auditorium (host to A Contemporary Theatre), est. 1924; 5th Avenue Theatre, est. 1926; and Paramount Theatre, est. 1928.
